Right now, were I live (Corvallis, Oregon, USA), it' flooding. I'm not kidding you! My high school is even used as the evacuation center!
At the start of this week, the Willamette Valley saw snow, something that is rare. It's so rare that when it snows, we basically freak out because we don't know what to do! Seattle still has snow, but here in Oregon we are facing floods because of heavy rain and melted snow. Last night, Corvallis got around 4 and a half inches (11.430045cm), from rain alone and that's not including the melting snow. The power was even out for all night.

Now, the link above is the link to my high school website. The first picture you see should give you an example of how much water there is. That's the 'quad', as we call it, and it was flooded by the stream that runs through the middle of my school, and that's the safest place to go. Can you imagine? The only reason I'm lucky is were I live, we have some irrigation thingies that suck up the water, and I live on a hill so all of the water goes down. There is still a risk though, and just in case I have a small bag packed up with my most special items, my blankey and my special stuffed animals.

This link is a news article that kind of gives you an idea of what's going on in the entire area. I hope that the child and his mother rest in peace. I also hope that this flooding doesn't get any worse. Goodness, and that nothing more happens. I hope that soon the flood will fade into the history books and doesn't do any more damage.
